David Barton is a passionate activist who has been campaigning against the socialist infiltration and takeover of Australia and its institutions for decades. For much of the last 40 years David’s background has been in youth work, social work, community development and lobbying at Federal and State levels.
As a one time small business owner and commercial helicopter pilot, David also holds a Youth Work Diploma, a Counselling Degree, a Master of Arts in Social Sciences and in 2018 gained a PhD in Disaster Recovery. He also has Certificates in Public Safety (SES Rescue), Mountaincraft Leadership and Youth Suicide Risk Assessment. David has also successfully gained grant funding for a wide range of community organisations over the last four decades.
In 2008 David was the inaugural President of the Marysville and District Chamber of Commerce, and later went through the 2009 Black Saturday fires as a member of the local State Emergency Service. He was involved in the rescue of a number of people and subsequently received bravery awards for his actions. David lost his home, business and all possession on that dreadful day.
Concerns about much of what occurred in the aftermath of Black Saturday led David to undertake a PhD research project with RMIT University and the Bushfire Cooperative Research Centre on the recovery of Marysville post-Black Saturday. His thesis is available online at RMIT University. David has also been researching Aboriginal issues for decades and spent six years working in Alice Springs.
In 2023 David was very active in the ‘Voice’ Referendum ‘NO’ campaign and ran a Facebook page with 8,500 followers. He is currently involved in the ‘Just Say NO to the Great Forest National Park’ campaign.
David lives on a small farm in Central Victoria.
